Down In The Land
The connection to the land brings me close to who I am. To share that with who I love is a quest of the heart.
Lyrics:
In the silence…you called me.
In the darkness…I felt you.
I knew that the time had come
So I snapped the chain and began to run….
Home..one of my many homes
Haven’t given up the race, but it was time for me to roam.
From the concrete to the Carolinas
I came to as the distance grew.
City anxiety fading behind me,
On a frosted mountain I extended roots….
Deep under icy falls shines a moon from a blue sky,
eagles calling, as I wish you by my side
to watch the sun burn down the night!
My heart has been here before
With your love my peace assured
I found a heaven upon the ground
Grace surpassing reason’s bounds….
chorus: Down in the land, the soil melts my shield.
Down upon the land, beauty takes me down to who I am.
Who I am…someday I might understand
When I’m holding you upon our land.
My heart has been here before
With your love my peace assured
I found a heaven upon the ground
Grace surpassing reason’s bounds….
Chorus
2nd chorus:
Down in the land, the soil melts my urban shield.
Down upon the land, beauty takes me down to who I am.
