Catch Time

I wrote this while studying for a Shakespeare exam in college. Obviously my mind was elsewhere, caught in a sing-song of rhyme

Lyrics:
Don’t know why I’m feeling blue, I’ve got way too much to do
There’s no time to think of you, but you’re what I need to see me through
I work so I can play, I hope someday that it might pay
Then I might begin to save up for that very special date.

chorus: Got no time, got no time, but you’re always on my mind.
I fantasize our hearts entwined…. when we’ve got the time.

I’m doing this you’re doing that, our lives don’t seem to cross
Something must be sacrificed before we feel the loss.
Concentration out the window, an empty bed I dread,
It’s hard for me to hold onto your vision in my head.

I’ve got no time, got no time, but you’re always on my mind.
I fantasize our hearts entwined….

While I dream of the day we’ll forget just why we’re racing
And we’ll catch time for embracing
You & me, timelessly, when we’ve got the time.

Maybe sometime on the weekend or one night after work
I’ll take you out and dance your feet right off this Earth.
We could sail out to an island where the waves will lap our toes
I won’t settle for a movie and some fast food and to go!
chorus:

I’ve got no time, got no time, but when I do our love will shine.
Time…….someday we will make the time!
